<p id="sp0120"><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;">There are several factors that can affect on the quality of construction and all of the using elements, such as mortars, as a basic component of the building industry, are effective in the ability and performance of the building. Therefore, determination of strength of mortar is an important property in construction and many studies have been done to identify the effective parameters and the predictive relationships to determine the strength of mortars. In this paper, the effect of two types of materials including micro-Silica and also Calcium Inosilicate minerals on the compressive strength of mortars has been investigated by artificial neural networks. Also, a suitable relationship to estimate the considered strength is proposed based on the selected neural network. The results of the relationships show that these equations with a high accuracy have a proper ability and acceptance performance to predict the compressive strength of considered mortars.</span></p>

<p id="sp0055"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Does moral culture contribute to the evolution of cooperation? Here, we examine individuals&#8217; and communities&#8217; models of what it means to be good and bad and how they correspond to corollary behavior across a variety of socioecological contexts. Our sample includes over 600 people from eight different field sites that include foragers, horticulturalists, herders, and the fully market-reliant. We first examine the universals and particulars of explicit moral models. We then use these moral models to assess their role in the outcome of an economic experiment designed to detect systematic, dishonest rule-breaking favoritism. We show that individuals are slightly more inclined to play by the rules when their moral models include the task-relevant virtues of “honesty” and “dishonesty.” We also find that religious beliefs are better predictors of honest play than these virtues. The predictive power of these values&#8217; and beliefs&#8217; local prevalence, however, remains inconclusive. In summary, we find that religious beliefs and moral models may help promote honest behavior that may widen the breadth of human cooperation.</span></p>

<p id="sp0010"><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;">Corrosion-induced deterioration of reinforced concrete (RC) structures results in premature failure of the RC structures. In practice concrete crack width is one of the most important criteria for the assessment of the serviceability of RC structures. It is therefore desirable to predict the growth of the crack width over time so that better informed decisions can be made concerning the repairs due to concrete cracking. Literature review shows that little research has been undertaken on numerical prediction of concrete crack width. The intention of this study was to develop a numerical method to predict concrete crack width for corrosion-affected concrete structures. A cohesive crack model for concrete is implemented in the numerical formulation to simulate crack initiation and propagation in concrete. Choices for evaluating the parameters of cohesive elements are extensively discussed which is a key for developing a plausible model employing cohesive elements. The surface crack width is obtained as a function of service time. Accurate prediction of crack width can allow timely maintenance which prolongs the service life of the reinforced concrete structures.</span></p>

<p id="sp0010"><span style="color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;">Polyaniline (PANI) involved materials have extended approved applications in different fields, including bio/chemical-sensors, electrical and electrochemical devices, electrochemically active membranes and stimuli-responsive systems. These materials have attracted most of the interest in the field of development of biomaterials for tissue engineering and drug delivery systems. PANI offers remarkable features such as the ease of synthesis, considerable electrical conductivity especially in the doped condition, simplicity in the modification to improve water processability and enhanced biocompatibility. An engineered PANI-based biomaterial can be applied in the process named the stimulation (ES), in which cells cultured on the prepared biomaterial can be electrically stimulated. The ES mimics the native role of bioelectricity and affects the cellular behavior. The main focus of this review is on the electrical conductivity and stimulation using biocompatible advanced PANI-based materials, documenting and discussing the relevant literature and providing key information and new insights into ES.</span></p>

<p id="sp0010"><span style="color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;">Artificial intelligence (AI) is proving to be an efficient alternative approach to classical modeling techniques. AI refers to the branch of computer science that develops machines and software with human-like intelligence. Compared to traditional methods, AI offers advantages to deal with problems associated with uncertainties and is an effective aid to solve such complex problems. In addition, AI-based solutions are good alternatives to determine engineering design parameters when testing is not possible, thus resulting in significant savings in terms of human time and effort spent in experiments. AI is also able to make the process of decision making faster, decrease error rates, and increase computational efficiency. Among the different AI techniques, machine learning (ML), pattern recognition (PR), and deep learning (DL) have recently acquired considerable attention and are establishing themselves as a new class of intelligent methods for use in structural engineering. The objective of this review paper is to summarize techniques concerning applications of the noted AI methods in structural engineering developed over the last decade. First, a general introduction to AI is presented and the importance of AI in structural engineering is described. Thereafter, a review of recent applications of ML, PR, and DL in the field is provided, and the capability of such methods to address the restrictions of conventional models are discussed. Further, the advantages of employing such algorithmic methods are discussed in detail. Finally, potential research avenues and emerging trends for employing ML, PR, and DL are presented, and their limitations are discussed.</span></p>

This study evaluates Iran&#8217;s natural gas industry development by reviewing reserves, production and consumption, infrastructures as well as natural gas agreements. The total proven natural gas reserves of Iran is estimated 33500 bcm by the end of 2015, where more than 60% of them are offshore. There exists 23 active fields in Iran and the largest of which is South Pars gas reservoirs in the Persian Gulf. The gross production of natural gas was 257623 million cubic meters in 2015 of which 80% was marketed. The current state of Iran&#8217;s natural gas industry is assessed as an acceptable level due to massive reserves, high production capacity, wide transmission and distribution network and high penetration of natural gas in cities and villages. That is why natural gas has the highest contribution in the national energy mix, resulting in replacing petroleum fuels with natural gas to decrease CO<sub>2</sub> emissions. However, in recent years, delays in implementing development projects of the natural gas industry made supplying domestic demand difficult during cold seasons. Furthermore, it negatively influenced the nation&#8217;s gas export potential. Iran&#8217;s natural gas industry faces some challenges including growing domestic demand, high energy loses in residential and commercial sectors and low efficiency of energy systems in industrial and power generation sectors. If challenges are solved, natural gas could serve as a bridge for transition toward the low-carbon future of Iran.</span></p>

<p id="sp0005"><span style="color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;">We study an enforcement model in which, as soon as a Legislator grants an amnesty to low-rank criminals cooperating with the justice, top criminals react by bribing public officials in order to avoid being sanctioned. We show that, to prevent this form of <em>subversion of law</em>, the optimal policy must grant leniency not only to low-rank criminals but also to officials who plead guilty and report bribe-givers. By doing so, the policy increases the conviction risk not only for top criminals but also for their soldiers. This higher risk increases the reservation wage that top criminals must pay in order to recruit soldiers and therefore reduces the crime profitability (the <em>bright side</em> of subversion of law).</span></p>

<p id="abspara0010"><span style="font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;">This paper undertakes a critical appraisal of the prospects for fictionalist inquiry in psychology, which runs contrary to the traditional dissociation between fiction and knowledge-laden discourse. Following a review of the contested boundary between fiction and nonfiction, a portrait of essential aspects of fiction emerges, which includes <em>authorial warrant, imaginative prescription,</em> and <em>performative engagement</em>. The paper then proceeds to outline <em>fictionalism</em> as a philosophical approach, with reference to early and more modern variants of the position. This leads to a little discussed epistemic position called the <em>fictional stance</em>, which is then developed and applied to various psychological domains including the psychology of fiction, the fictional constructions, and the narrative study of lives. The viewpoint that emerges sees the epistemic value of fictional thinking in the unique access it provides to intuitive powers of the psychological imagination and to non-conceptual understandings of psychological life.</span></p>

<p id="sp0015"><span style="color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;">Laboratory experiments have many benefits and serve as a powerful tool for social psychology research. However, relying too heavily on laboratory experiments leaves the entire discipline of social psychologist vulnerable to the inherent limitations of laboratory research. We discuss the benefits of integrating archival research into the portfolio of tools for conducting social psychological research. Using four published examples, we discuss the benefits and limitations of conducting archival research. We also provide suggestions on how social psychological researchers can take advantage of the benefits while overcoming the weaknesses of archival research. Finally, we provide useful resources and directions for utilizing archival data. We encourage social psychologists to increase the robustness of this scientific literature by supplementing laboratory experiments with archival research.</span></p>
